  • IPC and visual communication (includes intersections of IPC, visual communication, and selected disciplines in the professions—e.g., IPC, visual communication, and applied linguistics in the workplace)
  • IPC and ethics
  • IPC, environmental and risk management
  • IPC, networking and complexity
  • IPC and accessibility
  • IPC and global education
  • IPC, online and print typography
  • IPC and ethnography
  • IPC, organizational cultures and practices
  • IPC and crowdsourcing
  • IPC, in-house curriculum and training
  • IPC and health communication
  • IPC and historiographies
  • IPC in allied industries
  • IPC, interdisciplinarity and research

Other topics of value to IPC will certainly be considered for this open issue. Prepare manuscripts in accordance with the following expectations of manuscript format, submission, and schedule.

Successful proposals to be developed into original

  • research articles of 5,000 to 7,000 words of body text (excluding references, notes, and appendices),
  • review articles of 3,000 to 5,000 words of body text,
  • focused commentary or industry perspective articles of 500 to 3,000 words of body text,
  • teaching cases of 3,000 to 5,000 words of body text;
  • full manuscripts, including cover page, should be in .doc, .docx, or .rtf format.

Proposal submission procedures

  • Include cover page containing your name, institutional affiliation, and email address.
  • Prepare the cover page and manuscript on letter or A4 size pages, 1.5 line spacing, and Georgia, 12-point font.
  • 500-word proposals for original research articles, review articles, and teaching cases; 250-word proposals for focused commentary or industry perspective article.
  • All submissions will be reviewed by at least two readers, whether you are submitting for a research article, review article, focused commentary or industry perspective article, or teaching case.
  • Email your proposal to the Co-Editors at editor@connexionsjournal.org
  • Each proposal should be sent as a .docx, .doc, or .rtf file attached to an email message bearing the subject line: “Proposal for connexions 5.1 (open issue).”

Schedule

  • Submission deadline for manuscript proposals: Apr. 15, 2016
  • Notification of proposal acceptances: late June 2016
  • Submission deadline for first drafts of full manuscripts: Oct. 1, 2016
  • Submission deadline for revised drafts of full manuscripts: Feb. 15, 2017
  • Date of publication: Apr. 15, 2017
